Latest travel updates on Coronavirus (COVID19) here

With three days in Marrakech to wrap up our Moroccan Souks & Sand adventure, which departs in both spring and fall, we wanted to highlight our five favourite things that make this city so special.

#5 Jemaa el-Fnaa

The city’s main square offers a lively blend of performers and street food, storytellers and snake charmers. From here we’ll take a guided tour that leads into the lesser known laneways of the medina, sample local delicacies, and even have a chance to shop the city’s famous souk, which borders the square.

 #4 Moroccan Cooking Workshop

What a way to fully immerse yourself in Moroccan culture: this hands-on cooking class (included in our tour) takes place at one of the city’s finest riads. The setting is beautiful, there are gorgeous gardens to explore, and many have said this was the best meal of their trip (which is even more impressive considering you’ll have made it yourself).

#3 The Tannery District

This is truly a sight to behold: hundreds of vats of animal hides being processed, softened and dyed by hand – the same way they’ve been doing it since medieval times – while incorporating fun fluids like cow urine and pigeon poop into the process (trust us, it’s totally worth the visit, despite the smell).

#2 Rooftop cocktails at Café Arabe

One of a few places in the medina that serves alcohol to sate your travel-weary nerves, the terrace at Café Arabe is a great place to pause and take in the grandeur of this North African city while snapping some Instagram-worthy selfies and indulging in both Moroccan and Italian cuisine.

#1 Our resplendent hotel

Our hotel is a beautiful mix of a 5-star hotel and a beautiful boutique riad. Ours is a Marrakech favourite, a true oasis close to Jamaâ El Fna Square with exquisite gardens, a sexy pool, soundproofed rooms and doting staff.
